Lever actons for yote rifles?

I've shot a couple of coyotes with my 90-something year old '94 chambered in .38-55, loaded with 275's at very modest velocity (guessing not more than 1200 fps). It wasn't too bad on fur at all.

I was just thinking about this the other day. I think next year I am going to shoot a coyote with all my lever actions. I have a small collection of 336's, I would like to shoot one with each of them and take pictures. You never see a hero shot with someone shooting a levergun. The 32 Win Spc. with iron sights would be fun to do. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I have a Marlin lever in a 30-30, and its a pretty cool gun. It's a fine brush gun. For a coyote lever action I would want a BLR for its external magazine and enclosed reciever housing. The Savage 99 is a sweet gun but I haven't found one that I could bring myself to buy for the price of a old used gun.

Yep I just wanted to get a conversation started about useing a lever rifle for varments As I said I have used my 44 Mag and my 45-70 for yotes and PD's usualy just out of boredom or it was what I had at the time.I like the levers when I am working fence seems like I always jump a few yotes in the corners. I had a rabid one charge me once keep a handgun close to now after that. BAdgers are a hoot too.

You want to have some fun to pass that boredom. Go to Home Depot and pick up 4 or 5 brand new red bricks. Go out to your favorite virgin PD town and set out the bricks out at 100 yards before daylight. When the PD emerge, they will wonder what these new "things" are standing in their town. These seem to be entriged by the color red. When they gather around it to investigate it stick one of those 405 grainer right in the brick. It not only puts on a hell of a blow up show but it also takes out 4 or 5 at a time.:D /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
