Light For Night

What kinds of lights are your guys using for hunting at night. I have junk spot lights now that we have modified the lens sot hat we have red light...but we end up carrying 2-3 lights with us because they don't last for than a total of 10 min before they die. So my question is what kind of lights are dependable and long lasting...AND affordable?

Thanks
Brian

Most of us have been down this road that you are on right now. You need to take the leap and invest some money in your hobby. Some things are simply a little high priced but you normally get what you pay for. I remember toting around three or four of those one million candlepower spots and still being without lights when I needed one.

Myself and a few guys that I hunt with all use two lights. One a Hot Lite Pro from www.huntsmart.com, it's a ballcap mounted headlight. We use it for scanning and it last all night long while being used continously. They will pick up eyes way-way out there. We save the Lightforce lights for full identification of the animal and for the shot.

Save your money and invest in good equipment.

Wanting an AR is different than needing a sufficient lighting system in order to use any type of rifle though.

Be patient and don't go cheap. It'll bite you.

Good luck, you'll get there.

I use a Nightblaster from optronics inc.The best light I ever used

that was my first one used it once then sold it,maybe i was just spoiled.but i like the light force much better,i can actully see with it.

Hey Pruson, When you use the Hot Lite are you using a red lens on that? I have used one of them for fishing at night but never used it for yote hunting. I also appreciate your comments on buy quality once. I decided to buy a cheaper model and it won't hold a charge. Looks like I am savings for a Lightforce. Thanks for the advice.

Nothing comes even close to there Power and Performance.....

When Lightforce say's you can See (Know what your Killing) with the 170 RMSM Scope Light at 250 Yards + w/Red filter on it, thats a Fact.....so you won't be killing the Ranchers Dog, or other Farm Anamal, becuase your Gussing on what it might be.........with a Enexpensive Light system.....

You can see Eyes over 600 Yards.......w/Red filter...on the 170 RMSM Scope Light....

Unlike other Scope Lights/Hand helds Lights that Claim you can see 250-300 Yards, there referring to Eyes (Contact) actual Body Visual is usually 75-100 yards if that.......

As with any spot light, the Red/Green filter Absorbes 40-45 percent of the White light it Produces with out the filter....

Good Hunting.........

I have to admit I love the Lightforce products. Only problem is you have to make some modifications/changes sometimes. Some guys on here have had some issues with the design. I know Rick will admit to this but this year I haven't really heard anybody complaining. I think somebody mentioned they may have fixed some of the problematic issues.

Hey there RickH2,I bought a Lightforce light two years ago.I had to send it in,I'm thinking it was somewhere out West, but I can remember the guys name that helped me out was Bryan.I know the company really aims to please. But I still am having problems with the cord coming unplugged, not completely, but just twisted enough not to make contact. Not trying to slam the product or anything, but the plug coming out of the battery was a little cheesy too. Also had problems with the fore end mounted switch.Like I said,it's a 2yr old light.Have they got some of the bugs worked out now?If so,where should I send it and whats the turn around time?Naturally it seemed it wouldn't come on when I really needed it the most.I think I've tried every other scope light out there and if I had to do it again it would be another Lightforce, hands down. After I bought it a friend of mine said there would be no way he would spend that kind of money on a light. The first night when we went calling I turned it on a his responce was,"where did you say you got that light'?He had one the following week!If they have made any upgrades to the light,I would pay for any of them.Dave

i use one of these..... i have been using it for more then 5 years now and i love it... i have the 21v penetrator model and will use nothing else..
yeah, id like to have a lightforce but these lights are worry free and ive killed coyotes and foxes with them out to 200 yard and light them up like christmas trees with the spotlight on them...
