Light For Night

I've tried a bunch of different lights over the years and finally invested in a Lightforce 240 with the BPS dimmer. I couldn't be more pleased.

I have had the LF 170 for three years now and really like it... my only complaint would be the sized of the light. You would think with todays technology they could design something with the same output in a smaller footprint.

By the way... I also have a NiteLite Beltlight pro and have configured my LF ( w/ changeable connectors) to share the battery with my NiteLite. This saves lugging the 5 lb battery around and with the night light it is designed that when I turn on the LF spotlight the headlamp automatically turns off. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

Was wondering how I could hook up a 12v head lamp to my light force 140 scope light bat. like Sullivt said in a previous post where it cuts off when I turn on the scope light. And is the 5100 or the rheohead from nite lite better for scanning before the shot. Also which bulb to use for the head lamp.

I have read about the lightforce from this forum in the past and it sounds like the way to go. But I do have a question. I do most of my hunting in the woods and meadows of north central PA. I am not hunting in areas that would afford a shot further than 100 yards and most of the time shooting would be under 75. Would a lightforce light be overkill for those short distances? I am using a hand-held Optronics now- it weighs about 700 lbs at the end of the hunt /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif. I don't hunt much at night because of the limited coyote per field area that I hunt.
