Lightweight AR-15 Calling Rifle Build Suggestions

Here is my Rock River Lightweight 16" barreled upper on a franken lower and a Plum Crazy lower for comparison. If the weights are not visible, regular lower was 7#2oz and polymer was 6#14oz.

I could shave some more weight but the $ to oz ratio would be high at this point.

Well it has been a while since I posted this but tonight I called Scott at SD and ordered one of his lightweight hunters in 223 with an 18" barrel. Already have a Larue Tactical LT-104 scope mount on hand from one of my last AR's as well as leupold VX-3's in 1.5-5x20, 1.75-6x32 and 3.5-10x40 so I should be able to find the right scope for the job.

This was my answer to my quest:

Yotecallr, are the two shinning spots at the hammer and trigger pins, SS bushings? If they are, who installed them or if they came on the lower, who made the lower? Don't mean to hijack the thread.

I love Yotecallr's rifle too. All it is missing is the suppressor. A very nice build!! I like it so much I have it as my screensaver!

Sure, I like a rifle to be light to carry, but I've found that too going light on a short rifle tends to make it 'squirrely' on the shooting stix. So, I like a bit of extra overall mass to help keep steady on target when shooting off stix, from a treestand, or what have you.
For reference, my DTECH 6x45

16" Hbar profile tube, fluted under the handguard & DTECH Compensator on the end, Hogue carbine handguard & ACE stock. Even with an NXS on top, it's 7.6 lbs. with a full 5rder, and I wouldn't want it an ounce lighter.

Just something to to kick around. Any excuse to get a new rifle is a fine by me
