I picked up another jug of LIL GUN today.I used it in my 44 mag super blackhawk the other day and it just seemed better when I shot the LIL GUN loads compared to the H110 and Unique.ANyone like Lil Gun for big pistols?

I like it as well, I keep hearing stories of wide pressure swings but I've yet to see any pressure problems. Lil' Gun gives me a good boost in velocity and it's a very accurate powder. It's a tough call though on whether my 44 gets it or my .410's....they both get hungry.

I wish I could remember where I learned this, but I suffer from an acute case of CRS...but in any case I thought the source was reliable, so this tidbit stuck in my mind: Lil Gun tends to be really hard on revolver topstraps.

I dont understand how any paticular powder could be hard on the top strap unless it creates higher pressures than is reccomended.Just asking since I am in now way a real experienced reloader but do want to keep myself safe and not damage my guns.Maybe someone else knows more about that top strap deal.I think I have that CRS also.LOL

It seems to play right along with win 296 and h110. I like win 296, because I have a bunch of it on hand. After its burned up, I may try some little gun!

I use it and H110 or 296 I really dont see much difference between them as far as accuracy goes and besides revolvers I'm using it in a couple of 14" contenders IMO you cant go wrong with either of those three for the 44 magnum

I'd like to know myself, Daryl. I was taught that pressure and temperature are directly related. I suspect this has something to do with how long the peak pressure is sustained, but who knows? It may be something else...or the whole story could be a myth. An internet search might reveal the truth but it's often too difficult to pick the truth out from amongst all the BS.

I agree. I do play with some AA #9 though...
