Okay, then, I must be wrong. Or am I?
My natural inclination when I read anything in the media is that it's coming with a liberal (I hate using that label, because there are many conservative morons, but I can't think of a better one at this time--perhaps someone can help?) slant, and when I read something using that point of view, I can hear the Earth-Firsters and others of that ilk in the background claiming man is an anomaly and an impediment to the natural order. (Yes, I have actually heard environmentalists say this.) Plus, I live in Colorado and I know Denver (home of the news outlet that wrote this story) for what it is: a bastion of the typical big-city stupidity that infects most every city in this country; because of its size and influence, it pushes all of Colorado towards socialism/liberalism. (If someone reading this lives in Denver and thinks and votes otherwise, I'm sorry to lump you in with the rest, and I'm sorry you are in the minority.)
Anyway, that's my take, and I'm sticking to it. Perhaps I'm reading too much into this story, but that's my modus operandi when reading practically anything from the media, and it's served me well over the years. Even if the reporter writing the story didn't intend any slight against man with the wording, she has been influenced by the environmentalists nonetheless when she unthinkingly uses their ideas/philosophy.
Okay, that's all I have to say on the subject; I'll say no more. Go ahead and parse my sentences/thoughts and rip me a new one, I can take it. Once you've had a drill sergeant screaming in your face at 6 a.m., thoughtfully pointing out a deficiency you didn't even know you had, not much else gets to you.
