Lion Skull is Back :)

Stopped by the taxidermist today to settle up on the lion I called in with my girls in February. Still working on the rug mount but the skull was ready to take home!

Too cool, the girls like it too. I am still excited over this cat, I cannot wait until the rug mount is finished. Here's some pics:

Both skulls are nicely done. Looks like the taxidermist used beetles to clean up the skull which is the way to go in my estimation. Can't wait to see the finished product.
 
Very nice job on the skulls. It looks like you & me are in the same club, both Hunters of The Month with Mountains Lions.

Actually I think he (taxidermist) boils them. The bobcat was for sure done by beetles though.

Yep:) I remember reading your story.

Bear season August 7th, I'll be out there trying to call one in. I likely used all my luck up on this cat though

That is a coveted trophy by many, my self included... I think you should have went with a full body mount... Definitely post picks of the rug... Very nice;)

I thought about it but I like the rug mounts better. Also, I don't know where I'd put a full mount. Would have to go in our bedroom...
 
I measured 13.25" but my calipers were only long enough for the width. Used a ruler for length so not exact but well shy of the 14.5" mark.
