Load data for .221 FB with 30 grain Berger?

Anyone try the 30 grain Berger with the Fireball? I'm looking for some load data.

I have tried them in my CZ in .221 with OK results. I used my most used load data with the 40 grain bullet loads as a starting point. With 16 grains Lil' Gun it was pushing that little pill to around 3600 fps easily, but did not get the accuracy that I did with the rifle's favorite bullet and that being the 40 grain Ballistic Tip.

Let us know what kind of luck that you have. Always willing to try a new load for my Furball.

Those are a heck of a lot of fun in the fireball. I started with what I was using for 40 grain bullets with Lil Gun and 1680 and worked up.

Hodgdon has a 30 grain bullet listed for the .22 hornet in their load data. try their link at

I used RL-7 and 4198. mild loads. reloadersnest. has loads posted, always start low and work your way up.

I haven't used the 30 gr Bergers but I am now using the 34 gr Varmint Nightmare Xtreme almost exclusively. I am using 16 grs of Lil'Gun (max load) and getting groups in the threes with a used CZ barrel.
