Local Firefighter has Fallen

3rd Alarm

I don't have the whole story as of yet but I am sad to report a local firefighter has lost his life in the line of Duty. He was killed in a tanker crash where he was ejected and report is died on scene.

They haven't released his name as of tonight so I won't post it, but would you all take a moment to honor this hero, pray for his family and his department.

Thanks.......... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Scott,

Consider it done, but we should not wait until now to keep our military, fireman, and law enforcement officials in our prayers. They are all heros whether they know it or not. COunt my family in on the prayer chain.

+1 We never know when we will be taking our last step, and our families have it just as hard when it involves those that have to intentionally walk in harms way.

3rdAlarm,

I seen the LODD report on firefighterclosecalls.com this morning. My thoughts and prayers go to his family.

Sleep well My brother. All though I never met you You will always be my brother. I know I will have another brother to look over us all in the Fire Service. Your sacrifice will not be forgotten.

I definitely feel for the family. My wife's grandfather was a firefighter, and was killed fighting a fire in Kansas City in the early '50's. Her mother grew up without a father, and I can definitely see how it affects a family in the long run to lose a father early.

My sympathies to his family. It's hard for me,to accept injuries/deaths when responding or coming back from a call. Tragic, what a loss.

his funeral is this friday. and not to take away from the original one of my guys got hurt in a house fire yesterday morning and had to be flown to louisville for surgery. hes doing fine but will be off for a few months.
