Long Bow

Well, one thing's for sure, in some circles Widows have become the benchmark against which all bows are measured. They have certainly done a good job marketing a good product. If someone feels they are worth spending that much money for a production bow then I say more power to ya.

If a fella's got time to wait, there's always O.L. Adcock's bows. They're right at the top of the pack in performance and have the handmade quality and attention to detail that a bow of that price range should have. No bow leaves O.L.'s shop unless he says its good enough.

Lot's of choices out there and lots of price ranges. I like the looks of the extras offered with Cari-bows but with two kids, I don't have the $$ to spend on all the extras. Bob Morrison makes a fantastic bow too and should be included in anyone's top list.

Any of todays traditional bows, be they production or custom, laminated or selfbow, longbow or recurve, will get the job done if you do your part in matching it with a GOOD HEAVY arrow and SHARP BROADHEAD and practice enough to put that arrow in the boiler room when it counts.

I've shot one with a stone head too and there's nothing, to me, like that feeling of getting it done the old way.

Have fun and shoot straight.

Steve Turray, Jay Stcharles,Crag Elkin and many others will custom build a bow for a lot less then a production made widow, With the same if not better customer service and quality. Kyle makes some very good points.
