That statement always makes me laugh. I wish I had more money than brains.

In my opinion, they are good marketers and salesmen. They put on long range shooting classes that bring in the rich and others. When they see what a decent rifle can do they gotta have one.
$ is no object. I have a very close relative that works with them quite closely. The rifles are not anything that special. Certainly not what they get for them. You can get a rifle made pretty much identical by a good builder for around $3500. Maybe even nicer.

Just a little example of something similar to theirs, but nicer, for half the $.

You are absolutely correct. My mistake.

Exactly. I know nothing of the LRP, crew, but if they are anything like the BOTW crew I do not want to. BOTW has been "asked to leave" several ranches for wounding game animals, while attempting trying to get their precious camera footage so they can then go sell $2K rifles to idiots for $6-7K.

LRP, BOTW, Greybull Precision, NO THANKS

I've only seen the show a few times and I enjoy it as much as most hunting shows, but I'm a little confused by Gunwerks as a whole.

For $7k, you can have a ground-up custom rifle built that's ready for competition, not just a custom hunting rifle that's basically a "production model". Their long range shooting course is also incredibly high priced. Shooting schools are always high, but $1000+ per day is pretty dang high. Their course descriptions include learning how to compensate for buzz words like "spin drift" and "coriolis effect", which sound really great, but for what it's worth, are largely unimportant for hunters (or even BR shooters if we're honest), and are MUCH less contributory to shifting POI than other factors.

From my ever-constant support of consumerism and a capitalist nation, "GOOD ON 'EM", they found a way to inflate their prices and still sell (advertising through the show), but for what it's worth to me, there are better rifles out there for cheaper, and I'm quite certain (having NOT attended a Gunwerks school, so I can't say for sure) that there are other schools that are a better value.

For anybody thats using a .50 cal Barrett or the 416 Barrett, You might have to worry about spin drift or the rotation of the earth, ok maybe but somebody please post of you have shot a coyote or p-dog 1mile or 1 1/2 mile.

Got the .416 M99 suppressed, pushing a 400grain solid 3200fps, that thing is something else, its only a matter of time.

Copied and pasted from the link:

Quote:Standard Features and Specifications
Gunwerks LR-1000 precision action, Stainless Steel. LH available.

Now, whether or not that means they actually produce them or just re-badge existing is hard to tell.

All that just to say he has a "custom rifle".

BTW, Stiller will scribe anything you want on the side of a action (so will defience & others) if you order enough.

I wonder if they make the DP rounds for the 416 like they do the .50. THAT would be something to see. Some people talk about the splatter effect SHEESH!!!
