WE in the Twin Cities Metro are blessed witha store called AXE MAN liquidators, they have a bunch of junk but every once in a while you find goodies---- they have Extream Cold weather face masks- old WWII surplus- they are white, and have a spare breath shield and a long front bib COST????
a meager $5.00. add a white stocking cap and VIOLA!!
instant head wear.

I know that you said that you are looking for a fleece balaclava in snow camo. I found a camo one that had a white lining and all I did was turn it inside out. One thing that I found that works great at keepong my head warm was a under armour hood that is white. I really like it. And it can be changed from a full face mask to a hood. It is on there web page under football and then accessories and then under hoods. They are not that badly priced.

My balaclava is white nomex and I believe it is used by workers in the fire dept. trade. I colored it up with some black, brown, and gray perm. markers and it works well for camo'n my mug and keeping my head warm.

Hey varmithntr,
Where is Axe Man?I've never heard of it and it sounds like a cool place to check out.I'm south of the cities a little ways but when heading north it's nice to get out and stretch for a little bit.

We have pure white ones available here locally. They are a white fleece face attached to white poly acrylic (typical winter hat material).

Let me know if that helps.

Hey John,

Thanks for the offer, but I did find a pure white one in the style of balaclava I want. But I have not gave up on finding one in winter seclusion or prairie snow ghost either yet.

Here is what I did. My wife got me a pure white balaclava for Christmas last year. I took a yellow, black, and brown Sharpie marker to it and made my own snow ghost balalava. The guys I hunt with thought I had bought it like that. The colors are a little "blended" around the mouth area from my breathing through it, but it works fine and breaks up the pure white. Remember snow is really never PURE white anyway. Kind of a dirty white color after a few days.

I use a Natural Gear knit top for snow camo.

You know what I'l like to find??? SOME SNOW CAMO GLOVES! With the open fingers/mitt covering. I can slip a finger or two out that way, for things that require a bit of dexterity. For the realy cold mornings/evenings I like to slip a heat pack in the mitten part. Works to -35*F.

Littletoes.

I know, I am looking for Glomitts in a sno camo too. I have been using Glomitts for close to 10 yrs and they are the best. Never seen any in sno camo, so I am either going to paint a pair white or modify a pair of gloves?

I dont know why the sno camo companies ignore this? Or we are truly a small group?

Littletoes and NOdak7mm

I have a pair of Glomitts in snow camo. I found them last winter at Mills Fleet Farm in Fargo, ND. They are Thinsulate ULTRA-warmer than hell. They are in the Realtree Hardwoods camo pattern. I have never seen another pair around but wish I could. I would buy another pair I think I paid 11 bucks for them.

I have been in there recently and did not note anything like that (looking for a balaclava), but will try and go back in this weekend when I get back to Nodak..

Thanks FallGuy!!

Littletoes, if they have em, maybe we can work something out.

Checked in Sprortsman's Wharehouse, they did have some glove types in Desert Prairie Snow, or something, but they had the full fingers.

Hmmmm, just maybe I need to go check again???....wife might not like that though. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Nodak7mm, check out that website I listed above, and worst part, they'll send you a free catalog....I love catalogs. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
