Looking for 6.5mm bullet feedback

I have decided to do some hunting with my 260 Rem. (6.5mm) and would like some guidance as to what bullets have performed for others in the past. No reason to re-invent the wheel or fail to learn from others mistakes so please educate me.

Specifically, I will definitely be doing some coyote hunting and also probably a bit of whitetail deer hunting. Not absolutely sure about the deer hunting cause I have an outstanding 7mm Rem. Magnum that has worked like a charm for years.

The bullets that come to mind for me are the Hornady 95 grain V-Max for coyotes and the 120 Nosler Partition for deer, but I don't know anything about either except for what the advertisements show.
 
I acquired a 6.5 x 55 Swede a few years back. It is practically a ballistic twin to the 260 rem. I went with the 120 Nosler BT. It will drop a deer with authority. It amazes me how such a little bullet will do what my 280 fails to do sometimes. It has been my go to gun for whitetail the last few years. Evey deer hit with it has gone straight down. Maybe I have been lucky. I havent used it for yotes due to too many 22 caliber rifles. Give the 120 a try, you will be impressed. Randy

I agree with RagnCajn, go with the Nosler 120 gr BT.
I just boought a 6.5 JDJ barrel for my COntender and this is the bullet of choice. The Partition will work but you will get faster kills with the BT.

I absolutely leveled several this year with the 120gr NBT. Both 4350 and N550 have been great in this chambering for me. If you want more, the 140gr SST or 130gr TSX would be my move.
 
Depending on what the twist is in your 260 you might try the 140 a-max. That is what I shoot in my 6.5-284 and it works like a charm on both coyotes and white tails.
 
My experience is the same as RagnCajn, JD338, and JustC. The 120 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip out of my .260 Rem has worked wonders on whitetail and mule deer for me. I have killed bucks from less than twenty yards out to 275 and never had to use more than one shot. The 120 BT's I have recovered have opened up very nice, made a good wound channel, and retained right around 50% of the original weight.

95 grain V-max bullets shoot very well in my rifle but are very tough on fur if you plan on keeping it. A 100 grain Partition might be one bullet a guy could use on both deer and coyotes, if you were looking to save some fur.
