Looking for a different e-call

I just don't like the skull camo, because it sticks out like a sore thumb in the fields that we hunt, unless there is snow on the ground.

cmatera, thanks for your reply which is a positive note. People do have different opinions about all things in the predator hunting industry, and that is a good thing. It makes for competition and improvement of products.

huntnfishpa, didn't you just post that FoxPro took care of your camo concerns? FoxPro could put every ecaller model out in 3 of the most popular camo patterns, and somebody would want more. Personally, since coyotes don't see colors as we do, I don't think it matters much. I put a piece of camo material over the whole setup anyway.

I agree with some of what you say. While my foxjack decoy is ok, I like my Mojo Critter better. I like my old foxpro bag, but outgrew it (too much stuff that I probably don't need LOL), so I went with the Fieldline bag that Al recommended. I also like some of the JS sounds, one of which is is my goto sound.

However, as far as e-callers go Foxpro wins hands down. Their innovation(s) in this field are way above anyone else building calls IMO. My one buddy still uses his JS cassette, and while it still is effective, it is alot to mess with compared to the wireless ecallers. I liken it to using the LED lights that are out on the market today vs the old wheat lights and corded batteries that we used years ago. Alot less fuss with the LED lights without cords hanging all over the place, and carrying heavy batteries on our belts.

Yes they did.

Was just telling cmatera why I didn't like the skull camo.

Yeah Fred, I remember that well. Old Uncle Jay is an interesting guy, always thinking up something new. I always liked his statement "They will stop, they always do".

I have seen several guys put small thin wall plastic tubing even a thick straw over the whip. Seems to slow it down less erratic I guess. Dont know exactly what he has but seems to be same principal? I put a full length of heat shrink tubing the full length of mine. Puts a little extra stiffness in it. Gonna try a squirrel tail and see how it moves.

I emailed AP Jones about this and here was his reply:

Thats my personal unit in the video, jeff shot that on hunt with us. I just put some rubber tubing and some camo tape on the bottom of the wire to hold the decoy up a little higher. nothing special there.
