Looking for a fur buyer (East Texas)

good luck ,I contacted the Texas furbuyers association and never got a reply.I also hit the Texas trappers association didn't get any leads there either!
If you do find one be sure and let me know I've been trying to find one for 3 years!

Ronnie Lewing out of Many, Louisiana has been buying furs here in Central Texas for about the last 3-4 years. I sold him 2 Bobcats this year. Most brought $80-95. I have a friend in Tulia who shipped all of his stretched coyote furs to Lewing. This year Mr. Lewing came to the following towns from December 9th thru Febuaray 24th: Comanche, San Saba, Brady, Mason, Llano, Fredericksburg, Boerne, Menard, Junction, Sonora, Ozona, Big Lake, Mertzon, & Ballinger. You can contact him at his home at 318-256-9595. His address is:

Ronnie Lewing
987 WB Lewing Rd
Many, LA 71449

I have before. Their prices are not great, and I have to ship to them. My stuff is raw (frozen) and a pain to ship. Once I ship it, I'm stuck with whatever price they decide to give me.

If I meet someone in person, and I don't like their price, I can haggle or just keep it.

It will be hard to sell them this time of year...Probably should really wrap them good and freeze to sell this fall/winter. I sold some furs to Lewing this year and did ok. Up to $115 for good big prime cats. Most mature size cats were $80-$100. Sold about 6 or 7 for $110.

Wow, is that for tanned or just skinned hides?

That was for green skinned...west Texas type furs...I am sure the prices go down as you go east through Texas...

Is that because our piney woods furs are scragglier than yours out west? We are a ratty bunch, I admit. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif
