Hey guys been looking to upgrade call sets. Have it narrowed down to a couple but all suggestions are welcome. Looking at Reese Outdoors Surge, Dogbreath, and Toxic Game Calls. Thanks in advance everyone

Check the Forum title custom calls here...scroll down a bit.
I have only purchased one, and that was a howler from Will (canislatrans54), and it is a very nice piece.
I have had two custom made calls given to me but not used much (a open reed howler and a closed reed distress).
Another member recently asked a similar question and members suggested custom call`s made here.
I can say several members/sponsors make some very nice LOOKING calls and sell them here, but I`m just not experienced/confident enough to use them much.

I have gotten some very nice calls from Badtothebone on this forum in the custom calls section, give him a pm or call.Great to deal with.

I can't speak for those three that you mention since I have no personal experience with them. Here is what I do know. You simply cannot go wrong buying a custom call from any maker on this forum. The money you spend might be a few cents to a few bucks more than you'd spend on a production call from a big box store but the benefits far outweigh the extra funds. The money you spend here goes directly to the maker. The quality of the calls (materials, craftsmanship, sound, ease of use) I've seen and own from makers here are top shelf without question. If you ever do have an issue the maker is simply a PM away and more than happy to resolve any problems. You won't get all that anywhere else I assure you.

I do actually have examples of all 3 of these. The Dogbreath and Reese are pretty reasonably priced, just good "working grade calls" that you can throw in the bottom of a pack and not be heartbroken if you crush one. The Toxic's are over-priced for what they are (kinda typical of duck call makers that sell predator calls too), and I'm not really in love with the graphics.

For the money, I'd also recommend the custom call makers here. If you're looking at no-frills calls, then the dogbreath, the Reese, or Kerry Carver's "Strictly Business" set are a great choice. But for about the same price, you can get custom wood calls of much higher grade. I have around a hundred "production calls" and my inventory list says I just crossed over 100 custom calls. I have purchased a sum total of 6 production/factory calls since I started buying customs. The quality and sound just make more sense, even considering a little (really little) more money.

I remember how I was sort of intimidated by the custom calls forum at first. Then I bought my first call from a PM member. There really is a reason EVERYBODY recommends custom. Many of the calls aren't very expensive ($15-$35) and they are made by somebody who truly loves what they do with the best materials available. Made by hand.

Just send a personal message to BadToTheBone or Catwhacker (or any maker in the custom forum for that matter) and tell them what you are looking for. They will probably be able build what you want or steer you in the direction of somebody who can.

I'll put out another thumbs up for carver calls. I have his strictly business set and a few others from him including his swift call(which has an awesome sound). He is really great to work with and the calls he makes are second to none.

+1 for Carver Calls! Kerry is one heck of a call maker and an even nicer guy. I bought 4 calls from him and they arrived very fast and he also threw in a free howler. Love the way they look and sound. Sorry I don't have experience with the calls you asked about, just thought I would help steer you to the custom side, you won't regret it!

You made a good choice. Use caution though, these custom calls can become quite an addiction. Just ask 220_Swift, who probably has a couple hundred. I'm well up into the double digits now myself, and still manage to find one that I "can't live without" at least once a month here.
