Looking to get a 6mm ARC ...

I am looking to get a complete 6mm ARC upper in an 18" format. I need to humanely kill dogs killing livestock, coyotes, and pasture detroying feral hogs. 5.56 isn't enough payload for longer range shots, though I'm not talking about 600-yard kill shots either.

I want to stay around $1K for a complete upper without optics. The market is pretty limited now. I need "minute of Coyote" at 400 yards, so a Proof Research or Bartlein quality level barrel is overkill in terms of cost for performance.

Where would I find a good complete upper for reasonable money that will have enough accuracy to take Coyotes or Dogs past 200 yards, less than 400 yards, humanely assuming I do my part? While a bit light for feral hogs IMHO, with better bullets and a magazine change, it should get the job done there as well, with most feral hogs taken at less than 200 yards.

For reasons I don't understand, complete uppers, or complete rifles, seem to be pretty scarce for reasons unknown right now. I'm not a gun plumber right now, so building my own isn't an attractive option today.

BCA, if it functions out of the box you are good. The accuracy is way better than you just requested. 6arc was designed for 500-1000yd shooting, high bc long bullets. So yeah its going to kill a yote or hog at 300yd with great accuracy. You are talking 80-90gr bullets standard, i cannot believe this too light for a hog…
 
Grendel Hunter would be a good place…Primary Arms has a Rise Armament for $799, although I don’t think it has a bcg, or charging handle.
For those ranges maybe look in to a 6.5 Grendel. The ballistics are within 2-3inches and 150-200 fps vs the 6 Arc…also heavier bullets available. Lots of 123gr options for 6.5.

Otherwise not really a lot available unless going over the $1k mark.
I have a 18” Ballistic Advantage 6.5 Grendel Upper, believe I paid around $450ish for it. Shoots excellent with the new 100gr Hornady ELD-VT. I have zero 6ARC experience, so only going off available ballistics comparisons online. But doesn’t seem much different between the two. Not trying to talk you out of the ARC,several on here very pleased with it. Will be more availability of components for Grendel.
 
In terms of component availability, factory ammunition, etc., the 6mm ARC looks promising. I have some past experience with 6.5 Grendel, but ammo availability was really bad for a long time.

This rifle will be set up to resemble my KAC SR-15 LPR rifle, which simply works extremely well for me. A small dog running flat out inside of 200 yards is a headshot almost 100% of the time. This rifle is like magic in my hands, so I am trying to duplicate it in a hard-hitting caliber without stepping up the recoil significantly. I also have a DeadAir Lazarus6, which will fit it nicely.
 
I just looked at WOA website. I know John sold the company a year or so ago, website now shows the NV address. However, see no 6ARC uppers. As to BCA, I have had good luck with their stuff, plus if you get a dud you can always have them correct it.
 
I have a 6 ARC from BCA. I bought it used on a PSA lower. So far all I have shot is Hornady Black 105gr BTHP's. It hovers right around an inch at100yds. Definitely minute of coyote. I don't hand load for it yet but I have dies coming and some brass gathered now. I plan to drop the bullet weight to 95 grain bullets and maybe lighter. Haven't figured that out yet. I'm kinda liking the 6 ARC.
 
I had a BCA upper. I will say I was not impressed at all.
It dont shoot bad, but wasnt great.
Went to change the barrel out. and the barrel nut was siezed to the upper so bad it sheared off the Barrel locating pin on the upper rec and trashed the upper rec as well.
So I had to rob parts from my 223 to put the 6Arc back together. Now my 223 is laying in pieces in my shop.
Will be the last BCA product I buy.
 
My BCA shocked me! Much better than I thought. Not internet groups but good enough for me. 15 shot groups hovered around 1 1/2" at 100. This included a cold clean bore to a pretty warm barrel.
With me pulling the trigger I'm pretty impressed.

Those look a lot like the Grendel Hunter model I see referenced in a lot of threads.

$275 for a fluted stainless 20" model with BCG seems a bit too good to be true.
 
Just so people that don't know me understand. I (up until today) have never posted a single group. I'm not a great shot and getting worse as time progresses. I had 10 pcs of 1 time fired Hornady brass primed with Rem 7 1/2 primers and a box of 100 Hornady 75 gr. seconds on the bench. I picked a load out of the Hornady manual went to a powder I have a bunch of (Tac) went to the load before the MAX. Loaded to the oal length in the manual and shot 10 rounds 2 five round magazines no waiting for the barrel to cool 1 to 10 in less than a minute starting with a cold clean barrel. (No fowling shots). You can see the 6 ARC isn't fussy at all. And the BCA upper worked fine. I'd say, as it is this pretty low budget AR would be a fine hunter up to maybe 300 yards. But like I said it's a solid 1 1/2 inch 10 shot, not a cherry picked keep it in your wallet group. Sorry the rotation of the pictures is off the one with the tape is correct. Just trying to show the tape is not blocking anything out

My neighbor shot my ARC a wanted one. So we built a low budget lower (except for a $130 Timney) everything purchased was on sale. Bought a Amazon scope and mounts under $250 and a BCA $239 upper. Shot 12 rounds out of it a put it away for 6months. (He isn't a great shooter and is over 80 years old with pretty bad case of the tremors. Well he picked a random load with some non match Hornady bullets and 335 powder and shot this 5 shot clean cold bore one after another group. I'm still impressed with BCA and the ARC.

I can't knock BCA. I have 2 of their uppers and both are tack drivers. 243 and 17hmr. my buddy has 3 of them and all good shooters. I gotta say, that 17 hmr is highly recommended. What a fun rifle, It's my coon eliminator.
