Looks like the .17 Fireball will work fine in Mach IV rifles

I got this information from Darrell. Looks good to me and I trust Darrell measurements.

Factory Ammo:
Case O.A.L. - 1.402
Head to Shoulder Datum Line - 1.076
Neck Length - .189
Shoulder Angle - 30 deg.

My fired cases measured as follows:
Case O.A.L. - 1.398
Head to Shoulder Datum Line - 1.068
Neck Length - .190
Shoulder Angle - 30 deg.

No, don't work for Rem. Just know a few of them who do.

I don't know about the chamber reamers being the same as you did say current. We have seen at least 3 different chamberings with the Mach IV over the years. One of which is what I call std as most Mach IV's have these measurments. I would think the so called "std" probably has replaced the older ones which now is the same for all. Even at this they were only slightly different.

What we have seen between the IV and FB is tight chambers for the IV's vs loose FB's.

No doubt a FB can be fired in a IV but these guys want the shooters to take responsibility for using it. I agree fully it can sell factory ammo of the FB for IV's. From what I have experience so far, factory FB is really good so far!
