low power scope for an ar

I'll go with Lungbuster. When you start looking for a running game scope take a look at field of view specs. Cabela's makes a 2 by 7 Pine Ridge model with better than 70 feet foot field of view at a hundred yards and for 70 bucks is a lot of glass for the money considering the warrentee Cabela's has on their products.

I bought a dozen of these from the Bargain cave five years ago when they had a big sale on them for Christmas presents. When I opened one up about two years ago to put on a 22 rifle for a youngster it had the cross hairs set at a 46 degree angle. The only one out of 12 that weren't perfect. When I called Cabela's and told them of the problem they said send it back.

I explained it was a bulk purchase from their bargain cave on sale and a few years old, but never out of the box. They said send it in anyway. Two weeks later there was a brand new one in the mail for me. Talk about service and a warrentee. These are bright and clear and as good as any of the older Leupold's I have.

Anyway field of view is king when it comes to a running game scope.

I use a 1-4X on my calling rifle and it is extremely rare to ever turn it up to 4X. I can't recall ever missing a shot for lack of power but I sure have missed a bunch because of too much power.

I use a 2-7x Mueller Multi-Shot on one of my ARs for competitions. Shooting with both eyes open on 2x, it's pretty fast to work over multiple targets.

Natches shooting supply has a great by on the Browning 2-7. This is the scope I have on my AR. It is basically a Bushnell 3200, it's just been discontinued.

Natchez

Natchez also has a Bushnell 3200 2x7 with firefly reticle listed for $119.00.closeout sale

I also recieved an E-Flier from them today listing a bunch of Burris cosmetic flawed scopes marked down.

I had a 2-7x32 Bushnell Legend on a lightweight Model 1 upper I had. Worked out really well size and weight wise. Seemed the perfect power combination.

I put an ACOG TA31F with chevron type reticle on my AR carbine & I wouldn't trade it for a sack full of roasted peanuts. It is evident the AR15 & Acogs go together when you shoulder the weapon. It just seems to seek out a target. I can shoot pretty good groups at 100 yards even though its only 4x power. If you learn to keep both eyes open you can get on targets fast with this scope. They are not cheap, but good scopes never are.
