Lower Build Kits?

getting ready to start on a new AR for my wife. I have lowers, next up I'll need the lower build kit. I am watching PSA but would like suggestions on quality kits.

this will be a calling rifle, she prefers a collapsible stock & the upper will most likely be a 5.56/223.

PSA is out right now, but stocks a MOE kit with Magpul furniture for about $180, a friend built one of these & is pleased with it.
 
I recently used a joebob LPK and it worked just fine, based on the bags Im guessing they are a cmmg kit.

I have also used double star LPKs and they have been great too. Best part about the double star kits is they come with one extra detent/spring for the takedown pins. This is handy in case you shoot one across the room never to be found again.


Are you going to build the upper or buy complete?
 
PSA has a Blackhawk kit on sale, $99.99, which is $70 off. I may buy one and give it a try.

haven't decided on the upper. I may just buy a complete one.
 
Couldn't stand it & ordered one.

I'm still interested in other kits, as I have 2 more lowers to build that will be done a bit later.

Now I need to sort out what to do for the upper. the only 2 things nailed down is that it will be a 223 and a flat top, as it will be scoped.
 
in that case Pegasus defense has a lower build kit with the premium stock which is a Magpul CTR Magpul mole grip and spikes tactical buffer
 
I would try one of the stainless kits,,, ive done some from rguns,, and most recent,Fatboy tactical, , its a stainless speed hammer,,, went together smooth,, good trigger break,, lil creep but not bad at all.

Psa has those acs l kits that are nice for a complete build.the fde is on sale right now.

My experience with JoeBobs has been nothing but great; I like the option of LPK w/out FCG and then substitute RRA two stage..or other.
Talk to Joseph, he`ll work with you IME.
 
These guns can gain weight fast, I would use a light weight barrel profile if I were to set up an upper for my wife.

Nope. Our Lower Parts Kits aren't CMMG kits although they are bagged similarly.

Oh ok. Either way, worked just like all the others do.

kit came in today. looks good. I need to buy a couple of tools to put it all together I think.

10 days from order to delivered, slower than most but not horrible & I was not in any hurry to get it.
 
Does anyone like the Enhanced kits from Spikes?

I have quit using the regular LPK's in favor of the Enhanced and yes, Joe Bob's is great!
