Lucas Oil Gun Products

Ok guys just kinda wanted to toss my two cents out about a new product I came across (new to me), and that would be the Lucas CLP aerosol. I picked up a couple cans of this from my local O'Reilly Auto Parts (mainly because I work there and get a substantial discount on products) but also to give it a try. Haven't had a chance to hit the range yet after a thorough cleaning but hopefully during the holidays this week I'll be able to. If anyone is interested in getting these lucas products any oreillys can order them just grab the part # from the lucas website.

I look forward to your report. I use Lucas gun oil a lot and really like it. I use a lot of it during break in and then go thinner for everyday use. It seems to create a film on the guns that is incredibly slick. Just be careful not to mix it with other products as some can chemically react an gum up. One customer had that happen when he put Hoppe's on a gun that I had used Lucas on without removing it first.

I got a bottle of their original gun oil from our local farm store. I've used it to lubricate the bolt/carrier group on a couple of my AR's after cleaning with a carbon remover. As far as I can tell, it seems to work quite well - at least under light to moderate rates of fire. I don't do mag dumps, so I can't really say how it holds up under extreme conditions. I haven't seen any of the CLP on a shelf anywhere, so I haven't tried it out yet. Plus, I still have a fair bit of Break-Free left.

Ok guys sorry for the wait but i've been a little distracted due to a loss in my family. I finally found a moment to get out the the range and get some trigger therapy in, and as promised I would give my take on the Lucas gun oil and CLP.

First off this is my fun gun.

These are the two products that I was trying out, both of which I was able to get locally from an O'Reilly Auto Parts. Before hitting the range I gave a good cleaning to the rifle using the CLP and just like its name implies it cleaned the rifle well no problems. The reason I went with lucas clp is it states on the bottle that it will protect from rust for up to 1 year. Pretty bold statement but in my experience with lucas products I can trust their claims. My rifle likes to run heavily lubricated so I gave a generous application of gun oil to my bcg. At the range I had no problem with cycling of the rifle from multiple shooting positions. All in all I would give my two thumbs up on these products as they seemed to work just fine for me and mine.
