I was recently given one, can anyone tell me their experiences with it?? I am a low volume reloader and currently use a RCBS 10-10. What are the advantages of keeping it??

I weigh each load if that helps.
 
I love mine. Had it for years. Depending on the powder type ie ball, long cut etc it may throw a charge +/- .1 or .2 over. Seems to be worse with powder like varget. The smaller and more uniform the powder the more consistanly accurate it throws. I just set it to throw .1 to .2 less than desired and use a hand trickler to finish.

I dont think its the dispenser, just the way the powder falls out.

WAY better than the beam scales in terms of speed. Ive run mine beside the RCBS and I think they are equal in terms of throwing the occasional over charge with varget anyway.

I have had mine for a few years I guess. As mentioned it`s a great time saver. I still develop loads the `old fashioned way`, but after that I use the DPS to load quantity (the DPS shows .2g heavier than my beam). If the DPS throws a majority of the loads a little over (.1g) then I`ll set it .1g light and throw the few that land there in the hopper; necessary? probably not but

If your machine is the older model, I guess they sell a upgrade kit that speeds them up. Not sure how to tell which is which, mine was the newer one.
The DPS has to sit on a sturdy table to work correctly (sensitivity of the scale), so mine sits on a table next to the reload press and it fills the powder pan while I seat the bullet.
 
I have the DPS 3 and love it. Had the DPS2 for years and only reason I upgraded was for the automatic dispense feature. Never had any issues with either model. And yes with certain powders it does throw a little bit over but like phutch30 said just set it light and it has a trickle feature that allows you to get to your set weight.
 
Only problem with them is the keypads flaking out (google it). How do I know this? Because mine is back at Lyman being replaced currently after just a year with minimal use. Make sure to turn it off every time before you unplug it from the wall. I agree with others, throw it light on large charges and trickle it up. I usually will throw 0.3-0.4 under. For anything under 10 grains like handgun loads, it hits it right on the nose every time.
