M Lok Arca plates

New guy here. Want to make the leap into predator hunting at night. Have a few AR platforms of various size/weight and calibers. NY neutered, of course. Lookings at Fat boy tripods. Wondering what M-Lok to Arca plates folks use with Fat boy tripods? I know they sell a couple plates. Kind of like the idea of a longer plate 6-8 inches long on the hand guards. Might not be necessary but looking for real world expert advice. Was looking at options at Area419.com. Info on other options would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I’ve found that on my AR rifles a short ARCA plate as close to the receiver as possible helps with weight distribution. I’m using a Sunwayfoto T3240CS for a tripod. Got the ARCA plate off Amazon. Works fine. All my AR rifles are still rearward heavy even with the stainless bull barrel.

I just use a generic plate, nothing fancy. you'll want to get it close to the center of gravity (near the magwell) as possible.
Doing that makes the weight distribution better IMO.

I've bought the cheapies off FleaBay & Amazon, much prefer the ones from Area 419.

Salmon River Solutions makes nice plates. They machine them from 7075 aluminum which is a stronger alloy than many are made from. American Made. Might be worth contacting them to check, but I think you would be looking at the SRS Tactical 10" ARCA or the SRS Tactical 4" ARCA and you can choose M-Lok mounting hardware.

I have some cheap Amazon one on my AR…just make sure it’s got stops on one end. Been using mine for 2yrs on a Fat Boy Levitate head with zero issues.
Salmon River prob makes the nicest, or atleast that I’ve seen
