Last night I set out on my deck with my P22... Squirrels are hard to hit with a pistol

Switched it up tonight;

That's more like it!

I have not fired this rifle in a while... Forgot how much fun it is to shoot;

Not as effective as a shotgun... But for myself, no scatter gun could ever have the panache of the M1 Carbine;

Just checking the mail

This day ends... What is done, is done...

25 June 2015

Humidity 64%
Wind Speed S 18 mph
Barometer 29.97 in
Dewpoint 70°F (21°C)
Visibility 10.00 mi
Heat Index 87°F (31°C)

Day 3 of killing tree rats that are jacking with my apple trees and chewing holes in my shed to pilfer wheat... I am also finding it very therapeutic to just sit out on my deck and unwind after work;

For my day job I design maps for an oil and gas company... Maps are defined as a graphic representation, drawn to scale, of a horizontal plane as seen from "above". My vision from "above" physically puts me in the clouds and just cause I step out of my office does not mean I automatically cum down.. I can always count on just getting outdoors to get me grounded;

I did not know I had this big of a squirrel infestation... I thought I was just seeing the same few over and over...

Now this day ends... What is done, is done...

Thanks for posting!!

Reminds me of the Crosman M1 BB gun my dad bought me when I was a kid.
That old BB gun & I had a lot of fun together, keeping the farm safe from mice; wasps; various birds (mostly sparrows); and the occasional ground squirrel.

Somehow the stock got broken before my kids were born, and we "farmer fixed" it.
But, all 3 of my kids eventually learned to shoot, using that old BB gun.

Evidently, if the following link is to be believed, the store Dad bought the gun from, must have had it sitting on the shelf for a few years.
Because, it had a true wooden stock, (NIB).
And I know it was 1972 when he bought it, for my birthday...'cause I was with him. hahahaha

Will,

I would have loved having that as a kid... my first bb gun was a replica of a 30-30 Winchester... I remember buying it at a drug store and picking it just cause the way it looked... its stock "wood" was actually plastic... I was a bird, snake, turtle and frog slayer...

one night my dad and some of his friends took me bull frog hunting at night with 22s and flashlights... I was hooked on chasing Bull Frogs... don't seem to be as many around these days as they where when I was a kid...

Yep, I loved that little gun.
It took a little getting used to, pushing the barrel in to cock & then pulling it back it to shoot.
But, just that one spring-loaded, air-pushed "pump" was enough to launch a BB quite a long ways...and reasonably accurately.

I remember one time, being home alone with my older sister (I was probably 10 & her about 14).
I was roaming around the yard, with the BB gun.
Don't remember what I did to piss her off, but I did.
She started after me, and I dropped the BB gun, which was ready to fire.
I ran for all I was worth, but, a good 50-60 yards away from her, I suddenly felt a very sharp pain in my back.
Danged if she hadn't shot me with that BB gun!!!!
It didn't break the skin, but went thru the T shirt, and left a heck of a welt [sp]!!
Really sad thing was....when Mom got home, whatever I had done, got me more punishment than what my sister received for shooting me!!! Hahahaha
And then, when Dad got home at the end of the week.......well, let's just say that it was hard to sit for a while!!! Hahahahaha

I get what you are saying... When I got in trouble, corrective measure came in the form of a belt... Now days it would be called abuse... That's what's wrong with a lot of kids today, they need a good spanking..
