M700 and 221fb ejection

I'm cool. Had several rifle with Sako extractors and no problems, probably better than factory. And....my comment wasn't meant for you Winny. So I'm good!

I own a bunch of rifles with Sako extractors, but they came that way from the factory, so the action designers factored in other ways to alleviate excessive pressures in the unlikely event of a case failure.

Listening to DAA might benefit ya'll (uh, you....).

He knows quite a bit more than most and has the experience to back it up. So yeah, I guess you could say he's special.

I'm down to four bolt action rifles, three 700's and one CZ. Guess which one is chambered for a Fireball cartridge....

If I had not gotten such a great deal as a package I would not have bought this 700. I knew going in what I was in for but I pretty much stole it. On top of that the darn thing just shoots too well to get rid of. I am thinking about just picking up another 527 in 221. And making this one a range gun/back up loaner rifle.

Yea....I don't blame you for buying it....that's a desirable model that you can always sell if you want....
I wouldn't recommend a Sako extractor though...LOTs of 700's have been ruined by smiths that claim they know how to make that cut....plus the real LVSF enthusists are going to want an unmolested rifle....
Maybe try working the bolt faster or slower....you might find a sweet spot...other than that....good luck....

Oh...and good luck finding a 527 in 221....they're getting scarcer every year....

I've not listened before and messed up lol. I think
I'm just gonna leave it be. The more I thought about what is needed to install the extractor I don't like
It.

I do hate the stock, and may change it. Other than that I think ill leave it.

But like I said before it is shooting really well. Probably better than any rifle I have owned before. So I'm not planning to send this one down the road. But should I decide too; I'd be happier knowing it has not been tampered with.

I see buds has a 221 in stock right now but my fun money is depleted at the moment. If it's still there in a couple weeks I'm going to lay it away. What is the deal with CZ these days? 4-5 years ago all of the models were out there with no shortage at all. Now it's impossible almost to get a 452 in 22LR, I have noticed several other models becoming quite rare.

I could pretty much guarantee that. But he is a lot like Trump in one respect. He speaks his mind without a filter sometimes and doesn't really care who gets upset in the process.

He "don't suffer no fools gladly", which is a good thing sometimes.

I'm not a marketing expert but I'd guess it's the same old story....CZ focuses on what sells....
As for the 452....they still release a few now and then....probably just using up inventory parts...but as you know the 455 is their main interest nowdays...
Too bad the 221/222/22H is only popular with eccentric old fools like myself...maybe they'd make more of em....

Oh...and yea....the LVSF stock sucks....a huge flew in a great design IMO....

I have a 452 but would like another just to put back for a rainy day. Had the 455 and it ain't nowhere near the rifle the 452 is. IMO.

I'm nkt much into the 22 hornet. I could like the 222 I think. But I really do like the 221 very much. Idk why it's not more popular. Brass isn't that hard to locate, excellent accuracy, minimal report and powder charge. Oh well. I guess what they use on tv is what sells. And plastic rifles.

I had a new 700 Fireball that was doing the same thing. Ordered a new Fireball extractor from Remington. Swapped it out and it works perfect now.

Agree on both counts....
Whittakers has 452 Americans for $349...these are the last one's they'll receive....course this is the third or fourth time they've said that so who knows....

There's no such thing as a "Fireball extractor"....you may have had a bad one but all small bolt face 700's wear the same extractor regardless of the chambering...

Sometimes we need to read between the lines. I knew what you meant and also know there is no such thing as a fireball extractor. Doesn't matter, you fixed the problem.

Sorry...I'm not psychic like you are....
