MagnetoSpeed!

they do make a rail adapter for it, however you need to have a long forend in relation to your muzzle to make it work.

its a dandy on my 9" pistol barrel with 8" handguard, but unfortunately that's the only upper i have that it mounts to because of the limits of it.

With a little ingenuity, the V3 MagnetoSpeed could be adapted to work, unattached to the actual pistol, and still record the bullet speed...The key would be keeping a consistent and workable distance from the pickups....You would need a very stable and repeatable rest such as a Ransom...

DAA,,,No offense taken,,,,My comment regarding the harmonics should not have been coupled with the effect on accuracy..Quote:OT, no offense, but the above just doesn't even make sense. Harmonics and accuracy are conjoined twins. Tuning a load is tuning it to the harmonics of the barrel. Change harmonics and the results can't be predicted to be better or worse or not noticeable.I use mine for the sole purpose of establishing velocity as compared to factory loads before starting to concentrate on accuracy....It's possible that my observation was an unintended occurrence from my last range session with it...I'm familiar with the concept of barrel tuning and harmonics...

for handguns with rails on them - for light/laser mounting and such - the abovementioned rail adapter will work on most (but not all!) of those as well.

for example, my gen1 XD - the rail is not a standard picatinny offering. its a proprietary pattern. so the magneto rail adapter doesnt work for it

. i beleive their website has a list of some of the specific models it wont work on, and it does specifically say "may not fit all rail patterns" so i dont hold it against them and i knew i was taking a risk.

I just went with the ProChrono Digital and tried it out today! It worked flawlessly at 31 deg. on a sunny day!

My shooting chrony would have never worked in these conditions.
