Magpul 700 DBM in a Rem BDL stock?

Has anyone installed a Magpul DBM bottom metal intended for a Magpul 700 Hunter stock in a factory Rem BDL stock. I've read it can be done but does anyone have first-hand experience.

I found a YouTube video that, while pretty limited did confirm it will work. I'll keep you posted on the progress. I ordered one today $70. shipped with one mag for my 22-250AI.

I have a spare Rem BDL stock handy. If it works I'll do the same to my 35 Whelen.

Working this project in. This morning I inletted my 722 action into the 700 BDL stock, this is a SPS Varmint stock vented forend and dual sling swivel studs. Seems an easier than than the 40x stock that I have on it, so far just inletting the safety. I need to check the trigger well for clearance of the bolt release.

I tried the new bottom metal and the mag well will need more work as the front of the new bottom metal is wider and longer than the original.

The new bottom metal is a synthetic of some type but unlike the Howa Mini it has metal inserts in the action screw holes and a metal release mag release.

Hopefully here soon I'll be doing the same (kind of) the same thing 722 into a Rem 700 ADL (wood) with the blind magazine.
Of course that will depend on the auction for the donor action goes.

When I was sitting the 722 that I screwed the 6mm CM barrel into the chassis there was some relieving for the safety width, as well as the height for the factory trigger.
So that the safety could actually function.

When I had picked up the 721 (6mm Rem Ackley) from a pawn shop it had been worked in the the safety clearance as well, plus the original owner had glass bedded it. The stock on that was the factory Remington 700 Long Action ADL blind mag. I did not observe any relief cuts in the trigger for the bolt release. the last time I had it out of the stock.

@AWS If the project goes south I think I have a extra SPS (rem 700) synthetic stock sitting here that is absolutely doing nothing. Just PM me if you need the stock.

ETA if I do wind up with the extra 722 donor action I have a mental debate doing on with the calibers, do I use the existing .308 Win barrel (varmint contour 26"). Or do I switch it to .22-250 barrel. Which honestly outside the locating a FL sizing die would be just as easy a conversion as the .308. The only downside of the 22-250 would be the cost of the barrel where the .308 is already on hand, although my original thought was to use it in the 721 (LA) when that 6mm barrel gave up the ghost.

One thing you might want to look closely at is the 22-250 brass as it has a slightly smaller rim diameter than the 308 and with the taper on the 22-250 case mine would drop the round before being fully extracted. I had to go with a Sako extractor in mine to fully extract and eject the 22-250 cases.

Well, it's to hot to work outside 108 right now. So I sat down with the stock and inletted the bottom metal. I had to take a lot of stock out to get it to fit. Working a plastic stock is miserable, it melts with a dremel and doesn't really cut well with a knife or bedding chisel.

It's in and works. Time to get to the range.
