Magpul Rifle Stock

Any of you guys or gals run a bolt gun on one of these? I'm looking at the "Hunter American Stock" for a Ruger .243 I recently purchased and have yet to put a round through. I know these stocks haven't been around for that long. Just wanted to get some input from anyone that may have one. The gun will be used for yote hunting and will most likely have my new atn 3-14 4k pro on it. I just like the price and the adjustability of this stock.

They’re certainly better built than the factory plastic stocks. I plan to use one on my wife’s 243 Rem 700 in the near future.
 
My buddy loved his magpul stock. Until he put an MDT on. They’re great stocks, but the chassis give me customization options.

And the price of the hunter stock and bottom metal with a mag is almost a MDT.

I run 3 of them, I like the magazine options, and AR style Grip options.
 
I got a Magpul for a Rem 700 SA. Haven't shot it much but like it so far. It's not too big of a change from the factory option as far as feel.

Biggest downside for me was it comes with a low cheek riser, and more spacers, but doesn't come with the no-rise option, you have to buy that separate. I had to buy that, or raise my scope. I didn't want to change scope rings so i bought it separate. I didn't go the mag route, running factory bottom metal.

I like having my sling mounted on the side of the stock also, as I usually have a bipod attached.
 
I have one ordered for a Ruger American...just to try out as well. I thought it has to be better than the stock on it. They were suppose to be out last spring, but, as far as I can tell, nobody has seen one yet. Mine has been on order since April. No joy yet.
 
Thanks guys. I have looked into those MDT Chassis before, but the cost is just too high for me right now. Wife said I could spend around 300-350 on a birthday gift for myself so I kinda have to stick to that. The MDT LSS is 399 just for the Chassis, then throw in the fact that I would have to buy a grip, tube, butt stock and clip and it just ends up being waaay too much. Especially for a gun that is probably going to get banged around a bit and hauled across the frozen tundra of ND in the middle of winter. I'm still not fully decided on getting a stock yet either.(It would be going on a gun that my wife will be shooting anyways!) I've also been kicking around the idea of a night stalker tripod with the pig saddle. Decisions Decisions!

It looks like I will have mine tomorrow. I back-ordered it on sale from Brownells for $236.00.(March or April) Looks like it finally shipped. I see they have the black ones in stock now. I'll get it mounted up here in the near future and let you know. I'm hoping its going to be a pretty good option on those Ruger Americans.

I just received this stock for my Ruger American Predator .243. A real quick 10 min initial review of the stock...It installs flawlessly in about 10 min. Fit and finish is perfect with exceptional feel. It comes with an installed comb rise of .25. 0.0, .50, .75 risers are available. It comes with adjustable LOP spacers, so that is a non-event. I have not shot it yet, stay tuned for that report. Now...the only downside I found in this very quick review...as I stated, it arrives with the .25 comb riser installed. That comb rise is too high to get the bolt out for cleaning!!! You have to remove the comb riser to remove the bolt...inconvenient to say the least. I would bet that Magpul will have that issue redesigned in a year. Then, hopefully, just a simple comb replacement. We'll see. Like I said...quick review, stay tuned.
 
Yep, I know. This is a just a molded plastic cap, so a milled groove isn't gonna work. I am going to try the no rise 0.0 cap just for grins.The .25 rise seems just a sliver high for me anyway...not bad at all...but think I'm gonna try the 0.0 rise. Will keep everyone posted.
 
Hey Tracker, is that stock ur buddy is selling for a short action or long action? I do have a 7mm mag that I would love to put one of these stocks on.
