Making a ecaller

One of the problems with homemade callers, especially if you don't have some electronics knowledge is that you can soon spend enough on parts to buy a nice factory caller with remote. Then, consider that with the factory built caller you get several high quality sounds.

Example, Flextone Echo eR1 Remote Caller and it comes with 100 sounds. On sale now for $108.00. The sounds alone are worth that.

Or you could buy a Foxpro Spitfire for around $200.00 and get 24 sounds of your choice from the Foxpro Sound Library.

I use goldwave but I'm not very proficient with it. Would love to get that hiss out.

Not sure how the hiss affects predators but I had a first hand experience while calling a few years a go with a nice mulie buck. I had set the caller out at the top of a thick draw. The sequence had three minutes of silence at the beginning and I had just backed off about 50 yards and snuggled up against a good sized pine tree. Within a few seconds a large buck came along from my right on a path that would go straight to the caller. There was still nearly two minutes of silence left and the light breeze was from the deer to the caller with me at a right angle to the caller and the breeze. Anyway, the deer got about 50 yards from the caller and locked up like it was on point looking straight in the direction of the caller. It could not have scented the caller or me given the wind. He stayed right there till the call went off and then high tailed it back where he came from. Only thing I can figure is he heard the hiss initially and that was what had him locked up till the call went off.

You guys will laugh at this haha my homemade caller is a 350-watt car stereo amp. I am pushing 2 of the radio shack power horns and man will it crank!!!!!!! It will get way TOO loud !!!! I can turn it up to half and I can hear it echo into the woods 6-8 times......IT is stupid I know but it works GREAT!!!! they come a running. haha
