i tend to grip my ar mag if im leaning backward so i decided to throw away 30 bucks and try this. the directions say that some cutting/shaving may be required to fit on some ar's. they fit rock river guns like a glove....no cutting/shaving required.
just thought i would pass this along, its actually an accessory that is not a piece of garbage and works. once you tighten it down it will not move...very sturdy. it also opens up the magwell entry a little bit for "in the dark" mag inserts. an added bonus is that the mag hits the plastic when inserted(not metal), making it a little quieter.

First time I've seen one. I don't normally hold my AR at the mag, but if I did, that might be a good addition.
 
i normally dont either, however when in the sitting position with a bipod, sometimes it feels more comfortable to grip it on the mag.
 
i guess i've always put my off hand back at the stock under my arm pit when I'm sitting with the bipod. i'm not sure i like it, but if it works for ya...thats all that really matters.
 
I think I do a little of both, hand on mag well and under the stock.
[beeep], I'm gonna have to go out and shoot now.
