I found a 39A today but it was totaly diff than any other. Man if I had some cash or something to trade. It had beautiful wood a octagon to round barrel. The tube only went half way down the barrel and it had a gold inlaid squirrel and something else on the side and gold inlaid words on the other saying something about animals. Beautiful

Let us see it, sounds custom. I have seen a few "special" 39a when looking for mine but there are few amazing ones out there that smiths' have produced.

Where is this rifle located? If you can buy someone might.

So, if my Golden 39A Mountie is not a 39M or a 39B, does that mean it's not a carbine?.......

I just never saw or heard of a 39A carbine. My mountie is a 39M.

After a little research I found several 39A Mounties, a 39TDS, 39S, and a host of others.

I think what the OP found was a 39AWL, they only made 2000, and are selling for around $1000.

Go use that gun....I dont see a mark on it!

I remember the 39A many years ago that had the magazine tube go up half way as you described. I have had dreams of that one for years, and haven't seen one anywhere. I really like the looks of that particular one.

It's not as clean as the pic shows. the metal is in purty good shape, but the buttstock was replaced with a checkered one. I get it out once in a while.....
