Thanks
I think my link works. Just not sure why it doesn't show the pic instead of the link.

I'll try another pic. This is a 3 shot 100 yard group with Hornady 55gr SP's

Did the same thing. I must be doing something wrong...

That will never work! Can't hit a groundhog with that! Lol. Looks like it's gonna be a damm fine shooter! If it's like mine it will like bullets lighter than 55gr best. If that's the case with yours...rut row. Keep the pics comin.

Used guns make me nervous. Chances are that it is fine, but
there are so many posts on different forums about something not
shooting, so the owner "sends it down the road". If that turns
out to be the case with yours, the barrels are no harder to
change out than Savage barrels. The pencil factory barrel on
my X7 in 7mm-08 shot so-so but I wanted more accuracy, as well
as making it a switch barrel, so I got a heavy varmint barrel
from Jim Briggs, Northern Shooters Supply. The one chosen was
a Criterion and they are very accurate barrels. Just one
option in the event things go south.

Love that forest camo! Have several stocks in different shapes
with those colors. Can't beat Boyd's prices, either.

If it keeps shooting like the group he posted I'd for sure live with that hah! When you swapped your barrels, was it a direct fit or did you have to have a smith trim some off the back? Some say it's a direct fit and some say you have to do a little work.

I've also read that some had to do a little work, but this was
a good direct fit.

I just ordered a Marlin X-7 in .223. I should have it in a couple of days. I want to ditch the cheap, Aluminum Weaver scope base, and replace it with Warne 2 pc. steel bases and Warne steel rings. The problem is I don't know which number bases to get??

The Warne scope base chart only shows bases for the XL-7. I'm pretty sure the "L" stands for long action. My .223 is obviously a short action, and I don't know if the hole spacing is different? Has anyone put Warne steel 2 pc. bases on a .223 Marlin X-7? If so, what number bases did you use? Thanks in advance.

Hey Billt I have a XS7 and it takes a Win model 70 base so I would imagine if you get a short action mod 70 base then you should be good.
