Marlin XT-22

I picked up a nice little 22 LR yesterday. It's a new Melin XT-22. Nice blue, very nice wood with some quilting. I'm not to sure on the trigger, it's decent...but I really don't like the Accu-trigger style blade thingy. The fit and finish is pretty decent. Not a collector grade or anything, but no gaps or wiggle. No machine marks, bolt is smooth. I know some folks aren't too keen on the open bolt styles, but this is very similar to my Dads old Glenfield Mod 25, so I wanted it...

I think I will put a few coats of goings oil on the stock, hopefully bring out some more of the quilting. And I found a set of G.I. style peep sites that will likely go on it.

Anyways, her she is. Nothing special, but a nice meat stick, IMO.

Range report to follow!

Yeah I think they are real nice rifles for the money. I bought the .22 magnum version last fall but had to send it back to Remlin twice because of front sight cant which made the rifle shoot 5" to the left at 25yds. First time they just drifted rear sight to the right until it was barely engaged!! Telling them this was unacceptable I returned it again. This time they sent a new rifle with proper square mounted sights. I told them they could cut the barrel behind front sight and remount front sight properly but they elected not to do that-probably no real smiths in the factory-just assemblers. Anyway they took care of the problem, paid all shipping, and I got a couple of extra mags for the aggravation. All is good.

Bought the plastic stock version of the Marlin XT22 about 2 months ago. Nice shooting rifle. By the way, the XT trigger is simple to adjust...just read your instruction booklet or visit Marlin site and you can lighten the trigger pull.

Not much of a plastic stock fan and just shoot paper.....so presently am in process of making a stock for my XT that is more suitable for shooting from a benchrest.

Its a decent shooting 22 rifle.
