Max load of Varget?

Temp shouldntt be a problem with varget. The anvil just came loose, as long as there are no other signs like what pahntr760 listed id say you are safe.
 
Unless I am doing something wrong that is normal. Your primers don't seperate until you decap them right? It happens frequently in all my reloads for every rifle and pistol I reload for and my loads are never hot. It happens when the decapping pin pushes out the primer.... Unless I am missing something. I think you are good where you are if there aren't any flattened primers or other preasure signs (sticky bolt, primer pitting, ect.)
 
It has been my experience that Varget gets sand bagged in most reloading manuals. I have been told by Hodgdon several times that IMR4064 and Varget are identical burn rate and inter-changeable. My 85 grain load in my .243 is 2 full grains above the highest book max I have been able to find. It shows ZERO signs of pressure in my rifle and cases are not hard to re-size nor do I get loose primer pockets after multiple reloading of a single case. But when I use the Max book load of Varget with a 55 grain bullet, I do get pressure signs I'm not saying that it will be the same in others rifles but it works fine in mine. In almost every reloading book I've ever seen, they list a slightly higher max charge of IMR 4064 then Varget. Sierra usually has them list as the same charge weight.

A great load in one of my 700 .243 Remingtons is 39.1 grains of Varget behind a 70 Sierra Blitzking. It's nowhere near maxed out but is stunningly accurate.

With a 58 Vmax it's up at 42.0, again no signs of pressure but stunning groups.

Primers falling apart when pressed out should be no cause for concern. Stiff bolt handle, marks on from the bolt face, craters on the primers would all cause me to put the brakes on any load.

Published loads are a carp shoot. My latest pet project .243 LBC (aka 6mm AR) is showing me that it can't handle anything like published max loads.
