McGowan barrels

Ok guys I assembled and shot my rifle and I'm still alive to talk about it:). It's a keeper I'm trying to get some pics up tonight yet. I've been working up some loads and it seem like everything shoots awesome like really awesome the last three loads Ive shot out of it have been .5 and smaller:). This thing just plain shoots.

It turned out a little heavier than I wanted but I guess I have to live with it. But I'm very excited about this gun for some long range fun I want to get a good scope for it but that's gonna have to wait for a while. I was going to put a leupold vxii 4-12 on it but my rings were to far apart on hit the bell and one hit the power selector so I have to round up some extended bases for it. Then it will be complete. The load I have settled now is 130 gr nosler accubonds and 41.5gr of reloader 17.

I was thinking about getting a rail for it does a guy have to worry about shells hitting it when ejecting. And will I have to raise the comb of the stock for eye alignment. Did the pics come up now

I shot this little cartridge over my chronograph today and was really impressed. I shot five rounds over it at 10' from the muzzle. The bullets are 130 accubonds over 41.5gr of reloader17. My average velocity was just over 3000 fps and my sd was 10 fps. I'm really impressed with this round.

I got two .458 barrels from them for custom smokeless muzzle
loaders, one for my son and one for me. His is a great shooter
and mine is a tomato stake.

Danno I read a lot of reviews like yours it seemed like you either got a good one or you didn't. I'm not sure if I'd ever get another one again I think I'd go lilja or Brux if I didn't mind waiting. The tomato stake made me laugh thank you😀 I had two pacnors that were horrible 2-3" groups I'd never buy another one of them again once a guy gets a bad taste in his mouth it's hard to get rid of it.
