McGowen barrel

Thinking of doing two wildcats. Both based off the grindle case. One will be a 20 grindle improved (20 Hadly) and will come off 22 PPC brass using grindle dyes moving the shoulder foreward from 22 PPC .07 and the other will be a 25 cal based off grindle brass sized to 25 cal and improved (25 Hadly) McGowen barrel seems to be the quickest turn around. I would like to hear your guys' imput on how these barrels perform and the cases. 20 Hadly should be about 34 grains of H2O for the 40-55 grain bergers. The 25 Hadly should be about 36 1/2 grains H2O. All will be made of simple grindle match dyes. This will continue my line of Hadly and Ryker wildcats. Hadly is short action and Ryker is long. I typically use lilja and krager but I do not want to wait the lead time to get one of these barrels. I have had great luck with other barrels besides these two and I am wondering your opinion on these barrels.

I can't help you on the barrel, but I am really interested in the cartridges. What kind of velocities are you hoping to get with the .20 Hadly? Might just run in an AR. Sounds like some fun builds.

I did a 20ppc with 30.65 of h20 and will push 50 ber @3708
trimed @ 1.520
I did a 20 br with 32.99 of h20 and will push 50 ber @3847
trimed @ 1.520

hoping 20 hadly with 34-35 of h20 will push 50 ber @3950

I am doing a build now useing a McGowen barrel.Ordered it at the begining of the month and they told me 4wks.It will be my first barrel from them but I have heard good things from them. They are located right here in town so that saved me the shipping also. Thanks Bobby

I'm pretty interested in this cartridge also, I'm building a 9 twist 20br right know and already have a 10 twist 204R, what is the difference between yours and Todd Kindlers 20 Titan

i used a mcgowen in a 204 on a savage striker. It shoot 1/2 - 3/4" groups. I thought that was good for what the gun was. The fit and finish were good to, no problems. I would ask if they are hand lapped

just a guess the 20 titan (aka 20x 6.5 x47 luppa)46 of h20
they are having ignition problems this was my first choice
next 20x250 (20x22x250)42. h20
great ignition to much primer bad grouping still under 1 moa but not what I am looking for the reason for grindle is it is a dashed version of the ppc and a sweet spot for the 20 cal
the ppc is arguably the most inherently accurate cartridge ever. If it loans its accuracy to this 20 cal like it did to others 50 gr ber 3900+ FPS and groups in the 3/8 . at this point it can afford to be a little slower .if it kicks less and is not as hard on barrels, shoots on top and performs near the top I will take it.
