MDT Field Stock........

I have an addiction

to the MDT field stock...and for good reason, they handle nicely and they look good as well! My next one will be for a savage axis action. No problems feeding or otherwise. MDT has a customer for life!

Funny that I saw this thread because I just got one also, but I got a bargain at $200. A buddy bought 2 on a black Friday sale and ended up not using one as it didn't feed well for his 22 ARC. It works perfectly in the larger calibers.

So far I love it on the new Ruger American. I've become addicted to shooting off a tripod. It does add a little weight, we figured about 1 lb 5 oz heavier.

I wish I could find something like it for a Wby Mk V. Or a Springfield 03a3. Those are a challenge to shop for!

Check Promag and Choate for the 03You may be out of luck on the mkV as they come in a beautiful stock. I'm a bit of a rifle snob. Got a 700 SA in a trade wearing a Promag Archangel. I replaced it immediately. Started night hunting and dug it out of the closet a few years ago as I planned on securing an ARCA and pic rail to forearm and didn't want ruin a good stock. Dropped a .243 Bergara Ridge barreled action in and haven't looked back. They aren't light or pretty but work great.

Little John, that is a nice looking rig. Question, how does the stock look and feel up close and personal? Does it look or feel cheap? It looks good in the photo. I have been looking at these stocks lately to put on a Bergara B14 308, just haven't seen one up close or handled it.

In my case, I have a Bergara B14 Hunter in .308 that is very accurate. One problem though - it has that sticky, messy to touch stock that I absolutely hate. I like the looks of it but that’s it. I have been searching for a stock and saw the Field Stock online. How does it look and feel up close? I have never had one in my hands. I don’t mind the added weight since I shoot coyotes off a rest from a hunting shack, and like the idea of using magazines that most likely will improve the Bergara’s feeding will be a plus.

The MDT doesn't feel cheap at all. It's just a good solid stock for people that don't want to spend a ton of money on a stock. If they made one for a Howa mini there would be one headed my way.
