MDT LSS

Just curious if anyone is using one and what you think of it. I've got a Ruger American Predator in 6.5 Creedmoor that I'm thinking about ordering the MDT for. It doesn't really need a stock upgrade but I'm a big fan of the modularity/adjustability offered from such a lightweight chassis.

My biggest concern is the forend looks awfully short from a stability stand point. Could be my eyes deceiving me but seems a bipod would be quite far to the rear of the rifle and may make it "tippy".

I realize spending 400 dollars on a 350 dollar rifle seems like dressing up a turd but these things shoot so good its hard to justifiy building or buying anything else.

Mossberg abd Savage both are using the MDT LSS chassis on their rifles. They look and feel like very good systems. I have a 6.5 Creedmore also and today was the first trip to the range. I bought a box of Hornady 120's just for sight-in and to test the rifle out. All I can say is for a rifle I paid $399. for its frickin amazing. Eight out of ten rounds made a group you can cover with a nickle at 100yds. Two got away but that was shooter error. Back to the original question, I'm torn between the MDT and just getting a Boyd's laminate for mine. The MDT is a great looking system but I don't care for having to use a collapsible stocks very much and the adapter to put a fixed stock on it makes it about 1 1/2 inchs longer and I got short arms so I don't know about that. If a tactical rifle is what your after, I'd say go for it. I'm still on the fence.

Let me back up, not sure the stocks on Savages are MDT. I got to look at a 10BA and they are different and use diifferent mags. My Bad!!

Ive had the predator for about a year now, its been a great rifle. I run the 123 Amax over Hodgon Superformance and its a 1/2 moa rifle. I dont really need an upgrade but as i said i like the adjustability the chassis would offer. The Ruger American has proven to be a great line for me over several rifles. I had every intention of building a 700 into a custom 6mm of some kind and then this 6.5 Predator showed up and has been so consistent and reliable I saw no need to jump into the high dollar customs. I spent my money on a suppressor instead.

The MDT certainly looks like a good deal, the only reason i need one is because I want one. Ha.

Last November I took my longest coyote kill with the 6.5 Predator at 773 yards. Thanks in large part to an incredibly stuborn coyote that just sat there and let me run some numbers on my phone.

I have a MDT LSS on my Rem 700 AAC-SD I used a fixed stock on it (without the fixed stock adapter...all you have to do is use a set screw)

Great piece of gear.

Great piece of gear.

Cool!Good piece if info. Could you post a pic of how its installed?

Ask and you shall receive.

It is the Luth-AR MBA-1 stock with modifications as you can see I cut off the piece under the tube forward of the sling swivel QD. I mounted it with a rifle length tube, then used set screws under the cheek piece so the stock would not rotate on the tube. It has a 14.25" LOP. Simply drill two holes into the stock piece and through the aluminum receiver extension. Make sure the hole is slightly smaller than the set screw. Screw the set screw into the stock (it is fiberglass and will self thread) The set screw will begin to thread into the receiver tube and go about 3/4 of the way through before it tightens up. Stop there leaving a little sticking up from the stock and replace the cheek piece. Works well, lasts long time!

My next will use the MBA -4 with a cheek piece added. That stock can be set with a screw to remain in position. http://www.luth-ar.com/

I was looking at the mdt system, but when I went to go through shipping and all that, it says they dont ship to my address. Anyone know what this may be? i'm in montana. Also, its priced in Canadian dollars, does this convert to USD for example if my order is 860 CA, would it be somewhere in the 650USD range?

You are up the wrong website. Go to the following:

http://mdttac.com/

Brownell's also sells them.

When I go to that site that you linked it redirects to the one that I have been on. once it loads it redirects to mdttac.eu and still has the CA price notation. I went through all the stuff that I know to get to an american site. but I'm at a loss here. brownell's (though i didn't look long) doesn't seem to have what im looking for.

Clear all of your temp files. Your computer is redirecting you to another site.

What you have is a computer problem.

Chorizo, I thought of that. So, I used a computer that I've never gone to that site on. It still redirects, I don't have the cash for it right now though, so I'll figure it out eventually

It is not a computer issue. The MDT website forwards based on GEOIP to one of 3 domains. So it sounds like you are logging from outside of the US.

Best is to call or email and someone will be happy to take your order!

Yes, on the Savage Stealth, these are MDT chassis.

With a nice buttstock and grip you are looking at around $550 total.

I am also looking at a MTD. Hope to add some questions to this.

I am looking at the LSS and the LSS XL. Can't decide between the 2. I am wanting to run a bipod but also use shooting sticks as well. My concern on the LSS is there won't be enough room for both on the short for end.
