MDT ORYX Chassis?

Toying with the idea of throwing my Tikka T3X Superlite in 243 Win into a chassis. I'm not fully committed to this yet, just trying to get a little info to help me decide.

I'm not looking to blow my checkbook up, and this will be for coyote hunting only. Not competitions on any level. Looking at MDT, and the ORYX chassis seems like a decent starting point. Anybody have any input on this chassis? Looks like it converts things to AICS magazines, so wondering about any feeding issues etc.

I converted 4 rifles to the Oryx and shot a lot of coyotes... They weren't bad. A bit on the heavier side but they did what was needed.
The only issue for me was the LOP and NW PA winter clothes with my thermals. IMO, MDT needed to drop the minimum to 11" not 13"...so now they are sitting in my basement collecting dust.
I've gone to all LSS chassis now...both rimfire, deer and coyote rifles.

The weight was for sure one of my concerns. And yeah, I know about the bulk of clothing up here in our part of the world during the winter. LOP becomes a thing! Appreciate the input.

...all the guns shot very well in them.
I just think there could have been a few changes in the design....another was i though the fore end length was a bit overkill- but that was probably to counter weight the stock end.

What do they fit? I might be interested.

Everything @limbhanger10 said. I have both the Oryx and an LSS chassis, overall the LSS is much nicer. I did have a magazine issue with Oryx. I bought the metal mag for a 204 Ruger (same as 223) it was a very tight fit. Mag would not catch on release, so you could just pull it out without using the mag release. Bought the plastic mag and it worked much better. Still had to do some work on the mag release before the mag would catch on the release when inserted. Did not have any problem with the LSS chassis but, it was a 243.

Check out the XLR Element. They have a lot of nice features, and not super expensive.
Yes, you have to add a buttstock and grip, but using an AR buffer tube, you have a plethora of stocks to choose from, and LOP is no issue. I went with the Luth-AR MBA-3 because it has an adjustable cheek riser, and a way to tighten it down to the tube (to take out any wobble).
Pro tip: get a 10-24 x 1/2" thumb screw to replace the 10-24 set screw, then you can easily adjust without using the allen key.

I tried one and didn't care for it. Getting a good cheek weld on the stock was very hard for me unless I raised the scope way up off the action. Not a bad stock but I think there are better options. The MDT Field Stock isn't exactly a chassis but it's a good option over the factory stocks and I prefer it over the Oryx..
