Well, they are a private business and can do as they wish. Wether it pleases You, Me or the other guy...They also state they will hold orders until the entire backorder is filled. Many folks go backorder crazy, just hoping to get into one item...this hurts them in the long run. This is why you will see folks get product that has been on backorder far less time than others. At any rate, canceling backorders does not make them any money, I don't see that as a misleading tactic.

The fact I work retail and have been told exactly that..."MidwayUSA has had this on backorder forever, so I got it from you."

I am sure this has been very profitable for them and has helped them obtain a larger share of the market. As you said Larry and his team have a much better insight to the situation than we do.
I think Midway is a frustrated as the customers. As you can see all over their website with the 'overdue' items...

I have always received an e-mail when they cancelled the backorder. Confusing process, sure...nothing was/is malicious in their handling of these situations. I guess I mean that over simply 'misleading.' No worries. I either moved past that item, finding an alternative, or found it somewhere else.
Oh well, either you'll get over it or you'll take it to the grave. I am fairly certain Larry will be OK either way. And they were a month early on canceling...oh well, again. There are many other sources out there.
I still don't see what the heartache is about. They still do not have the product you need right? So, what are you out? No money was taken, and there still isn't the product to send out.
