Anyone from sw missouri or closeby ks, ok, or ark know of any public land or landowners wiht hog problems that would let someone hunt? I have contacted the D.O.C. several times and they don't offer much help just "go to the feral hog page on the website." the sightings and map is several years old and the CA's from those areas close to me say they haven't had any killed in a long time. if anyone knows of any that'd be cool. thanks

South of Cassville in and around Roaring River state park. I haven't hunted it in several years but there were hogs there... I doubt they went anywhere. Stop in at the main office down along Roaring River and ask there. Also might stop in at the trail ride barn east of the park. They usually know where they are. My dad used to catch two to three a week in the barn. Trust me when I tell you this. Do not!! climb in a stall with one thinking you will grab him by the back legs. No matter even if he's just a lil' guy. He will run you on top of the hay feeder before you can blink. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Look in the public land areas around Table Rock Lake and Fort Leonard Wood. I turned a friend onto a place where I hunt and he started packing some corn in. He had nine at 25 yards the other day and couldn't get a shot because of the thick summer vegetation. He said two of the nine were real whoopers. Hopefully we'll get a shot this fall when the brush dies out.

There is some in Mark Twain National Forest around Ft Leonard Wood, check into Paddy Creek Wilderness area. The Fort has pretty much gotten rid of them, though there are a few killed every year off the post, they just wander in from the National Forest. I've hunted here at the Fort hard for the last 4 yrs and never have seen one.
