Mmm, beer!

Stopped into a friend’s brewery for lunch a couple days ago and tried his newest. Told him he should have named it I Ain’t Doing Shit Today. Strong..,

Nice! What style of beer is it? I like my IPA’s and strong ales.

Conversely, the wife and I stopped into one of our favorite little local breweries and they had put on a couple new beers. One was something that really surprised me. A wheat, session IPA! I didn’t expect much, but that beer was crushable! Lots of nice hop bite and only 4.3% abv. And it’s a wheat which kind of blows my mind for the style! I guess you COULD do shit ALL DAY with this one! Lol… My wife even liked it and she doesn’t like wheat beers.

And requires washing down 400 mg of Excedrin per bottle. And a three bottle per day limit to not need more Excedrin the next day :ROFLMAO: .

I still get a small shiver thinking about drinking that stuff when I was a teenager.

Tru Dat Dave! Lol… I think I’ve drank exactly 1 olde English in my 56 years of existence, and that was one more than I care to remember!

Most of the stuff I drank in my youth was worthy of half bottles of excedrin, but you worked within your means! Lol…

It’s great to finally be at a place where a couple few really nice beers override the necessity to overindulge in mass quantities of swill!

That said… I really wish I was 20 again!

So... Every year now for, I'm not actually sure, 13, 15 years, something like that. I have been leading a multi day offroad trip I call the Ghost Town Tour. I limit participation, depending on the difficulty of the planned route, but never more than 15 vehicles in addition to myself and my staff. Half the slots are taken by my friends before I open registration to the public. My friends that do it every year include custom 4x4 shop owners, full time professional world explorers, "industry people" and just my homies. The 8 or so open slots usually fill up in less than an hour after I announce registration is open. People pay good money to attend, but nobody makes any money. I and my staff pay all our own expenses. We're board members of a non-profit oriented to supporting public land motorized access and put all our proceeds towards those causes.

But, anyway... Leaving for this trip tomorrow afternoon. Stopped into my friends brewery today for "supplies". He is a literal world class brewer. Famous in his own brewer circles world wide.

He canned up the very first six cans of his newest recipe for me and gifted them to me for this trip, which he has been wanting to go on forever but with multiple businesses and a young family has never been able to make the time for. So, no labels, bare aluminum cans, first six 16 oz. cans of it ever. And he wouldn't even tell me what exactly it is. I'm looking forward to a campfire sampling this weekend!
