Man the coyotes are really turning on.Went out yesterday and sayw 11,today I saw 13.I made 5 stands and killed 4.Had two doubles inwhich I only got 1 out of each.I had forgotten my shooting sticks so I made a bad shot on one and had to track it.Man you talk about slick walking,I busted my butt three times before I got that coyote. Two of the four had pretty decent fur but the other two were mangy. The last one came in at noon so they are really getting hungry.Get out and get after them!

A buddy and I saw 6 this morn and 5 yesterday morn, in about 3 hrs. each time.

This was in a drive-by situation. And we only took 1, mangy as all get out. He had a strip of fur about 4 in. wide right down his back.

Most were seen on ground I have permission to call, so left them alone.
2 sets of pairs.

It's so dang slick I can't walk across my yard to the machine shed.
We spun the truck a few times just easing around this am.

Would love to be in the woods, but I ain't getting myself laid up trying to kill a few yotes. They'll still be there when I can get to 'em.

Seems like this ice and cold weather flipped their switch to roll.

Good Luck to all,
Clayman

I just called Huntress to give her the great news you just posted. I hope she can get out where she is and get her 1st called in. She sure is intent on getting one of these turkey eaters..lol

Big John,

Where you hunt aroung Marshall??? I am originally from Southeast MO, Poplar Bluff, and I hunted in Saline Co this deer season. Took a nice 13 pt buck near Arrow Rock and killed a very large Bobcat the day before. Got a lot of access around that area, might be looking for a calling partner on one of my trips up sometime. PM me if you want.

I just got back in from hunting. Called one spot, and decided to pack it up. Trees just coming down everywhere! I'm not going to get smashed by one of them.

Didn't hunt today...sounds like I should've...
I know my spots will be cut in half though...I can't hardly walk across the flat ground, let alone the major hills that you've got to cross to get to most of our stands.
Am going out tomorrow if the car will move. It is raining now (on top of the ice) so I'm sure it will be even worse in the morning.

It rained all day today, so i didn't make it out, but i'll be after them first thing in the mornin.

I dont think its as cold here as it is in MO

Went out this morning before the next round of rain hit. Didn't call in anything. Seen 3 running my wells though, to far for a shot.

Can't kill anything settin at home.

I've been wanting to go but with a back problem and the ice I don't think it would be a good ideal. So I've been doing the next best thing.....spending time looking around here. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

Same here Super R. That's the last thing you want to happen. Tried to go yesterday evening but almost fell twice in about 50 ft so just came back in. Even worse today with the sun on it. My poor ol lab can't even stay up.

Didn't go yesterday but went this morning and saw 8.Everyone saw/heard me before I could get set up on them.Made two stands in a different area but no takers.Slick as heck tring to walk, making getting on a stand a slow process. The little skiff of snow showed they are definitly getting in the mood for love.
