Who has an AR upper from Model 1 sales, and how does it shoot?
I know no one wants to probably admit that they didn't buy a Dtech. But my upper from model 1 does alot better then I expected. Anyone else have good luck with them.

20" A2, 1 in 9 twist, chrome moly. Their Barrels are made by E.R. Shaw which is a fairly reputable manufacture. It's the same barrel maker that made my ATR 100 barrel which for a $300 gun shoot extremely well, .5" or better at times. I believe he made barrels for colt for quite a few years.

I have a 16" super lightweight .223 from Model 1 sales it shoots about 1.5 groups at 100yds with a variable 1.5 to 5x power shotgun scope (parallax is set for 50yds) and I have 55 year old eyes. When I look at the bore I wonder how it shoots that good but it does, but it's a nice light carry gun in the snow we get up here. I just put a holosight on it but haven't sighted it in yet.

I have one of their uppers and have built one of their kits. The upper is great, but I have seen better kits. All in all not bad though.

I have the 24 inch extra heavy barrel upper, 1 in 8 twist, SS. I love it.

I have built 2 HDRs from Model 1 kits. No complaints what so ever. What I will add is that by the time you add certain upgrades on your build you will spend about the same as if you have D-Tech build you one.

No problems with Model 1, no allegiance to D-Tech, just calling it like I see it.

I have a 7.5" barreled upper that will hit soda cans all day at 100 yards. I also have a 16" 1:9 Hbar and a 16" 1:8 Dissipator that will easily hold under 2 MOA with cheap ammo.

They do not shoot as accurately as my DTECH 6x45.... those bullets are always touching.

Years ago, model 1 had an issue with bolt carriers breaking after 2k rounds or so. I believe they have fixed that problem. I was worried with my first transaction with them. I gave them a call and found out that all of there stuff carries a lifetime warranty. Put my mind at ease a little bit.

I got one of their uppers a year ago just for coyote hunting. It's a flat top with a 16" lightweight barrel and target crown. It shoots well, 3 shot group when sighting in was a little under an inch. I like it cause its light to pack. I have a RRA upper and the main difference between the two is them Model 1 is not as smooth, but I've never had any problems with it.

That's what I found, too. Mike's prices were more than fair, when you consider what you're getting. I have bought items from Model 1 and have been satisfied with the quality, but I've heard a few horror stories, too.

24" 1:9 ss. I like it allot. I haven't had any problems. But I'm going to send it to DTECH to have it shortened, comped, and fluted. The weight dosen't bother me much hunting around home but it did when on a recent pd and jack hunt.

Model 1 used to be an advertiser over on AR15.com, after a while their reputation suffered due to customer service and quality control issues, and they were essentially kicked off that board a couple of years back.

I had some really good luck with them, I guess. I did have a problem with my trigger pins not wanting to fit, but I chucked them up in the drill and took a little light emrey cloth to them and they fit really nice now. I called Model one to tell them about the problem and they sent me an complete pin, detent and spring kit, I got it a day and a half later. I suspose I will eventually build more AR's and try other companies, but for now I am very happy with the way the gun turned out.

same exact problem I had with my model 1 kit, same results they sent me new pins. So great customer service from these guys, they just need to square away their kits up front now and it would be awesome

I think they sent mine out the day after I ordered it,so it only took a few days. My upper took about a week and a half.

Mine was there in a day and a half, I figured it would take longer, kinda got me in trouble with the old lady!
