Model 600 222 ?

I have a 600 that was originally a 223(rare bird but I didn't know) I shot it for 35yrs befor the barrel was toast and had it rebarreled to 6x45, still a great little rifle. It's in a Ramline stock, a little heavy but stiff and I could cut a few inches off of it. They had the recall on the 600 trigger in the 1970's, I had mine done at a designated repair center in Fargo ND.

Will post pics in a few min.

Here it has an ill-fitting steel trigger guard that has since been changed to an aluminum one.

This little rifle looks like it is going to shoot pretty good , Above groups with factory Hornady Superformance Ammo 50 Grain bullets.

Thanks to all who replied.

It's been a long time since I shot a coyote with a 222. My rifle was stolen by a guy I thought was a friend. At any rate, I found that a 50 grain Sierra Spitzer Blitz bullet killed coyotes and bobcats dead as can be and were accurate to boot. The Hornady SX bullets are just as good.

Rare bird for sure. My dad has the complete set of M600 and then some, including the 223. That's a $5000 gun!

WAS!!!

The day it arrived at the base gunshop in Taipai I took it to the armerror and had him strip the rib off of and reshape the stock, [beeep] that was the ugliest rifle I've ever seen. I bought it in 1966 for $69.00 including a Weaver K-4, rings and bases. I told the gunshop I'd take the first 223 that they could get their hands on as I could get all the free ammo I could shoot.

If I could go back in time and keep it a $5000 gun I'd do the same thing all over again. The little 600 has been in on some of my greatest adventures and has probly earned at least $5000 in fur and memories are beyond value.

I agree, certainly better than having a rifle that hasn't been shot in 30 years....
