MOJO Puppy Dog Decoy

OK so here goes my impression of the MOJO puppy.

I should first state that I too am on the MOJO pro-staff. If you have seen my videos then you also know I use the Mojo Critter quite a bit. The effectiveness of this decoy is not in question. In fact in some instances it has worked so well that if you didn't have a shotgun that the coyotes would come at it so hard it would make for difficult shots. To me this makes for some fun fast action. I've recommended this decoy to lots of folks and I always tell them that if you use it that it would be a good idea to have a shotgun handy and be ready for some fast action.

Now to the new Puppy…… As some have stated it is merely a critter with a cartoon like stuffed animal below it...This is true but this new feature has added something more to the already good Critter. First off it has the added feature of sound. This is a big plus for guys using hand calls but is also a great addition for guys using electronics. The sound is of canine pups at a low natural volume. You can choose to use the decoy with or without the sound. Critter doesn't offer this feature. Yet another neat thing about this new design is that no ground stake is needed. This is great for rocky or frozen ground.

If you already have a critter you have what is my opinion the best decoy now on the market. The puppy is much the same but has added features and versatility. My prediction is that many a coyotes will fall to this new decoy. I will certainly be using it.

Good Hunting, and God Bless,

Byron

we used the MOJO puppy fri morning we called in 2 killed 1 should have killed the other but had equipment failure but that is another story both yotes were honed in on our puppy we wanted to see what they would do but the wind changed so turtle took the first one at 30 yards from the puppy he was looking at the puppy when he bit the dust the other yote was 40 yards ran then stopped at100 yards but lived to tell about that yhat bad assss puppy we have all this on video for latter MOJO pro staff macandprowler

I use a camo painted broom handle with a 1/4" woodscrew to 1/4x20 stud screwed into the end then screw the Crtter on. I use it for a walking stick untill I need it, then just stick the broom handle down into the brush. I can adjust the height by setting the handle at different angles

Like johnny007 I use a JS Attractor with a Whirling Woodpeker and hand calls to give them something realy different. Would like the PUPPPY but most of the country I hunt is pretty heavy cover and anything on the ground can't be seen untill the dog is close enough to shoot anyway.

Looks pretty bulky to carry for long hunts on foot.

Interesting...but I am a self-avowed and shameless Gear Queer.

I'll use anything that may increase my chances in a given situation. I like the idea of a low volume "finisher" sound and, regardless of the appearance of the puppy, I like having the option for deploying the decoy in a bush or on a tree limb. The carry loop is a good idea also. It looks like hooking a carabiner (sp?) on a belt loop or on the outside of a pack would be a handy way of carrying it.

Just used the puppy for the first time today. Made our first stand and a coyote came in to a couple feet of the puppy and I took it with the Benelli SBE II. Once we brought the coyote in with mouth calls the puppy took over with it's whines, so we could focus on filming and shooting. I was also happy with the fact we were able to turn it on and get back to the stand location with plenty of time to get ready before it started talking. I wish we could of done more but after two stands the wind became unbearable.

I filmed the coyote run up to the puppy! Normally I don't care for noisy decoys, but the noises the MOJO Puppy makes are great! It is a realistic puppy whine that will finish coyotes.
