Morning Joe

Not the TV show, what I read with my morning coffee. I just read (and it might be old news) that Ruger bought out Anderson Mfg and closed the doors on it. No more Anderson parts, no warranty, zip nada nothing. Basically if it breaks, tough luck.

It appears that Ruger is shutting down the Anderson name, but keeping the facilities, workers, etc in place. Changes to come, im sure, but looks like the facities and people will stay in place, generally. Who knows with corporate America being what it is. The price of lowers, uppers, etc across the board may have just gone up? Depends how PSA reacts.

What I read said no more lifetime warranty or parts. Pretty much SOL if it breaks. They were cheap anyway. Not a big expense if you needed a replacement but a lot of companies used them.

Mike B your correct. Seems Ruger is just going to use Anderson equipment and employee's to further the Ruger line. That's a good thing that employee's get to keep their jobs. Wonder what or if Ruger plans are for the future???

I hope they improve QC. I got three stripped uppers from Anderson in the last year that were completely out of spec. The rail and the barrel extension threads weren't square.

@MPFD
according to @William Suter Anderson has Completely fixed the uppers and lowers. They simply stopped producing the Anderson lines of products. And the workers now are working on Ruger Products. So yeah you will never get a bad product anymore.
And I suspect that Ruger will not stand behind any Anderson product made prior to acquisition of Anderson.

Ya Sarge the post I read said no parts, no service and no accessories. Wonder how many uppers and lowers are floating around out there? Millions probably.

@William Suter
Man in the pipeline there isn't absolutely no telling. Not to mention IF there was backorders from the "Jobbers" aka Distributors. And if that is the case they will dump them for a absolute great price on the dealers. Which if there was backorders I would kind of think that Ruger /Anderson would have worked a deal to allow them to fill the backorders.

I thought I had1, but just now checked nope, that one I'm thinking of went on the son's 300 Blackout he wanted me to do for him.

A Anderson is a OK somewhat receiver, or I should say functional inexpensive option that did help keep the prices down a bit. So I have mixed feeling about Ruger's acquisition of them. Ruger has done a Lot of things of the years, that they should hang their head in shame (IMHO). But they won't and will continue to tout the Company line. Of course I can't think of any company that the same can't be said of.
Regards
Mike
