Mossberg 500

I've been shopping for a new semi auto to replace my older ones but at the Scheels here they have a used camo 12 gauge mossberg 500 for $199. I still Intend to get a semi auto but this gun keeps calling to me each time I go in there. I can't see any scratches or marks on it and it comes with chokes.

I know these aren't high dollar to begin with but for 200 I don't expect them to be anything other than a no frills gun. It just keeps telling me to take it home. Is this a decent price?

I would probably only use it for a coyote gun

I'd buy it, they're darn near indestructible. I've beat the living he!! outta mine and only really clean it when 3 inchers start sticking. I'm sure there are much better shooting guns out there, but mine has killed a pile of animals. I've only got to shoot one yote with mine, flattened it at 50 yds with 3" rem. no.4 buck and primos tightwad choke. It pretty much lives in my truck all year, under the seat, on the floor, in the bed. Don't hurt my feelings at all if it gets scratched up. mines at least 20 yrs old and been abused for just about that long and it's still going strong.

I shot a Carlson't turkey choke in mine with Rem 3" #4 buckshot, and it would pattern 100% in a 20" circle at 40 yards.

I paint mine with Krylon paint.

I passed down my Mossburg 500 to a relative, told him to never sell it do to it's good tight patterns.

Nice, mine will regularly put 36-41 pellets in a 30" at 35 yds with the tightwad.when it get some rust it gets a shot of that fancy spray paint that bonds to rust.
