Mossberg 835 with #4 buck

I think GC's onto a good theory about the gas.

It was my understanding that the 835 was built as a turkey gun, was chambered in 3.5in shells to get more shot in the air and the overbored barrel was to take some of the recoil out of such a light gun. I know there's turkey guys that swear by them and I know if you get enough shot out you can nail just about anything. I was just looking for more consistency. So I switched to the 535 and have never looked back.
