most accurate way to measure scope height on AR

Running some ballistic softwear and was wondering what would be the most accurate way to find center of barrel and center of scope or SCOPE HEIGHT on a AR .
that dang handguard being there and all . Am i to assume the barrel is dead center of the handguard?

just curious what ballistic program you use???, i use FTE, and Bulletflight, when i measured mine i just locked my AR bolt open measured from what i thought would be the center of the chamber to the center of my scope tube, my 308 with MKIV high rings is right @ 2.7" works excellent for me, my apps get me on a 15X15 piece of AR-500 from 400-1000M, so my seight height calc. cant be that far off.

Just did the measurement on mine and best way I found was, using a dial caliper, measure diameter of scope eyepiece (a) and diamaeter of my bore guide (b) which fits action very snugly. Add these two measurements together and divide by 2 (a+b divided by 2=c). Now measure the outside to outside diameter of scope to boreguide and subtract (c)= height of scope over bore.

A long winded approach but provides exact height of scope over bore.

hm
